John Caffery is a Toronto-based DJ known for his deep love of new and classic disco, house, and the soulful, high-energy sounds that shape dance-floor culture. A fixture in Toronto nightlife for over two decades, John first stepped into the scene in 2000 at The Living Well on Yonge Street—the same year he began go-go dancing at the legendary queer party Vaseline. Since then, he has cultivated a reputation for sets that blend technical precision with a joyful, infectious vibe that brings people together. His musical style pays homage to the roots of club culture while keeping dance floors current, inclusive, and alive.
Today, John can be heard regularly at clubs, parties, festivals, and special events across the city. He is a resident DJ at Saturday Sessions at Bunker, as well as DFMO (Dance Floor Make Out), and SERVICE, at the Black Eagle. Launching in February is a new night titled Wormhole. His past residencies and co-promotions include the iconic MIGHTY REAL, Shorty, SoGood, Fruit n’ Nut, Queer Nation, and serving as the DJ for the House of Nuance within Toronto’s ballroom scene. Whether playing for an intimate crowd or a packed festival stage, John brings a signature warmth, community spirit, and unmistakable groove that continue to make him one of Toronto’s most enduring and beloved DJs.
